To my wonderful Nan, the many cherished memories I will hold forever dear in my heart. I have been so extremely lucky to have spent a great deal of my time growing up around you, the talks we would have, the pancakes you used to make for my breakfast before school, the steamed puddings for dessert, the sharing of the simple recipes you would pass on to me handwritten, the pot noodles, tins of sausages and beans, pepperami sticks and numerous other array of snacks that you would often buy and insist that you send home with me when I would visit you. Fond memories of doing your hair for you, the warm cuddles, and reminding each other all of the time how much we love each other, the holidays spent together, the surprises on birthdays, the comical trips to the supermarket, there is so much more. The guidance and life lessons you taught and shared, and above all the patience and understanding you have shown to me each and every moment. There is so much to say, and I know your body is gone but you are never gone, your spirit lives on and I have comfort that neither of us will ever be alone as we will always have our memories of each other and I will raise a glass of white rum and tonic or a brandy and stones for you, and at Christmas a snowball drink. I am so lucky I got to say my goodbyes and spend those last days with you. A huge thank you nan! Now and forever. To return the phrase, “good night my darling”. Oh nan I do love you. XxxxxX
